The DOE2000 focused program in Advanced Computational Testing and Simulation is developing an integrated set of algorithms, software tools, and infrastructure that will enable computer simulation to be used in place of experiments when real experiments are too dangerous, expensive, inaccessible, or politically infeasible.
This program is focused on defining and producing an ACTS toolkit composed of tools for representing complex geometries, advanced numerical techniques, tools for integrating other physics models, parallelism and software backplane, tools for data assimilation, management, understanding, advanced software framework which can be used to accelerate progress in critical DOE applications.
